— A Joint Statement from Jack & James
“Hello. It’s us. The Soundstorm Brothers. We’ve been accused—unfairly, we might add—of turning everyday communication into what some call ‘siren-level shouting.’
We call it presence.Jack, age 7, brings the content: thoughtful lectures about dinosaurs, Minecraft, and why he should be allowed to invent his own bedtime. James (aka Chunk), age 3, brings the emotion: raw, powerful outbursts in response to life’s injustices, like cereal falling outside the bowl or socks touching his ankles too aggressively.
Together, we are a sonic experience. We do not whisper. We do not ‘use our quiet voices.’ We reject societal norms that suggest excitement must be muted.
Today, we yelled ‘HI MOM!’ from three feet away. We narrated Pookie’s every move at a volume that shook the window panes. We debated the shape of clouds and the moral implications of green grapes, all while vibrating the walls.
Are we the a-holes for making sure you never wonder where we are or what we’re feeling?
Or are we simply audio artists, painting the airwaves with truth, drama, and the occasional roar over spilled milk?”
🧭 Verdict: TBD. Loud? Yes. Annoying? Depends on your threshold. But undeniably expressive. ✨
